Saratoga Springs and Lake George

We stayed at Ledgeview RV Park. It’s a really nice park with large sites and lots of trees.

We went to Glen Falls for Take a Bite. They have it every Wednesday evening in the summer. Restaraunts offer small plates and there is live music.

We went to Saratoga Spa State Park to try some of the natural springs. There are over a dozen springs throughout Saratoga. There was one spring called the State Seal that tasted like normal water. People were driving their car up to it to fill jugs of water to take home. The other springs contained lots of minerals and all tasted horrible, each in its own unique way.

We headed to Saratoga racetrack after lunch. We watched a couple of races before we started betting. The races are a lot more fun when you bet on them. We were at a negative, but the last race we hit on the Exacta (1st & 2nd place finisher) and wound up slightly ahead.

We spent the evening in Lake George. They have fireworks every Thursday evening in the summer.

We took a drive up to Prospect Mountain to get an aerial view of Lake George. The day was overcast, but even if it was clear it wasn’t worth the trip up. We then headed to Bolton Landing and hiked up to the Pinnacle. The views of the Lake were much better here. After lunch we decided to rent a boat for 2 hours to tour the lake itself. A lot of the islands in the lake have campsites on them. That evening they had a free concert in the park.

We tried a couple of craft breweries in the area, Druthers and Northway Brewing. Both were very good. We had soft ice cream at Martha’s Dandee Creme. They give huge portions, this is a medium!

  1. Beautiful! And I WOULD have to see the picture of you guys with those “tiny” ice cream cones, just as I was avoiding thinking about what to fix for dinner!!You mentioned a fair amount of haze: I’ve been worrying that you’ve been getting all those storms! Batten down the hatches (after you’ve had your ice cream and beer!)! Stay safe ! I look forward to the next postings!

P.S The highlight of today was that SCHOOL STARTED and Schyler got his new (supposedly indestructible) tuggieto play with with the boys! He’s depressed because “his boys” are gone during the day and football practice at night!
